Call it a midlife crisis, existential angst or just a desire to really start living authentically

Many of us wonder if there’s more to life than the path we’ve been on until now.

The routine of Monday morning to Sunday night, the little daily sacrifices we make to our wellbeing, a sense that we have to compromise our values to make an impact in our work…Suddenly it doesn’t seem worth it.

But we don’t want to drop out, or retire, or fade in to the shadows! We want to shake things up! We want to do something each day that makes us excited to get out of bed, that feeds our creativity, that leaves an impact.

I’ve got to that point too. More than once! And I’ve learnt over the last two decades that sometimes you have to take a brilliant gamble, to place your bets on turning your dream into a plan, even if most people seem to choose a more conventional path.

there has to be a much, much better way

We’re all about a blended life. Making a living without forgetting to live. Doing work you love without sacrificing your soul. Being true to yourself without dropping out. Making a big splash without spreading yourself too thin.

True, that’s not how most people live their life. But why should that stop you taking the brilliant gamble on there being a much, much better way?

Does work have to be this way? No it doesn’t. You don’t have to sacrifice your soul to be successful in your career. And you don’t have to drop out to find a blend of work and life that works for you.

Each week I talk to people who are proving that the old, 20th century way of working is well past its sell-by-date. I bring you practical ideas about how you can configure a life where work, family and self are integrated seamlessly based on 20 years of coaching clients around the globe.

AND I share what I’m learning from my own digital nomad adventure as I unpick my hardwired working habits...or at least try to! Join me on a quest to find a better way!

Life on the road has many, many advantages: lower costs and being able to go where the wind and the work takes you. As a digital nomad, you can be free from the repetition of the standard 9-5 workweek.

But, life on the road also comes with an amount of unpredictability. While that can be thrilling and adventurous, it can also be stressful and tedious. Wandering around someone else’s back garden waving your laptop in the air, trying to catch a mystical wifi signal to send an email or find something on the internet is agitating and not the best use of anyone’s time.

However, the stresses of ‘mobile emergency’ situations can be limited by three “contingencies” and every digital nomad should have them in place to successfully live and work during their travels.

one-to-one coaching

Each year I work with a handful of individuals who want to figure out what they want, what they care about, what they have to offer and what the right choice is for them. And then, together, we figure out how to make it happen.

I believe it is possible to find meaning and purpose in your work and really make a difference. And sometimes to be true to who you are you have to make a change. Maybe now is that time. In our 1-2-1 coaching, I'll inspire, guide and encourage you to look at what's possible,  disrupt the status quo and bring about change.
